greek life needs to disaffiliate

by: Zach

This schools greek life would be 10x better off disaffliating from this school. This school’s IFC has actively been trying to shut down greek life. Greek life keeps alumni investing, so its kind of insane that they would try it down. Other schools have disaffiliated from the school and it has turned out well for them, how do we do this?

National rules won’t let chapters disaffiliate. How/why is ifc trying to shut itself down?! Makes no sense

IFC literally tries to shut down every house they possibly can

This is facts. FSL continually worsens the quality of recruitment each term despite an increase in numbers this year. Not to mention the risk summit is a joke and most chapters feel underprepared for throwing safe social events.

Boulder’s IFC is not affiliated with the school. Idk how but if you guys can get an IFC setup that’s independent of the school, then it’d solve some problems

You’re gonna need one of the current board members who will agree with you guys to start it up and convince everyone’s nationals this is legit. Pretty sure that’s how boulders started

The only this would work, and the reason it’s worked at WVU and Boulder is that being affiliated with the school causes some direct threat to fraternity recruitment or existence (i.e. from the administration). You would have to make this case to both UO’s IFC and respective Nationals.

Sounds like the school admin is doing that here in a way, so find someone who’d advocate for y’all off the board and help you out

How do you try? Just drop. You’re clearly part of the problem. Get out already and be a geed

Gonna change this one up: UO needs to shut down greek life. Other universities have done it, it's been great.

Greek culture is toxic and the issues are intrinsic. This is coming from someone who is actively trying to drop a sorority rn and I'm realizing just how awful the whole system is
