Yes, you probably wouldn't get a bid anywhere and just shouldn't try.

Above response is false.
Sophomores can rush and do very very often. They get bids all the time. Houses will just basically grill you on why you didnt rush as a freshman and you'll need a good and compelling reason. They get a year less of dues from you which, sadly, is a big deal for many house.
I know Sophomores who got bids from Aphi and ChiO.

I went through it as a sophomore and got a bid. It is tough as most are freshman but don't let that deter you!

I’m in an “upper middle tier” house and we would much rather take a more downtown earth and incredible sophomore versus a less nice or less impressive resume freshman. I would hope other houses also follow this thought process. My friend who rushed as a sophomore got a bid to ChiO and many girls in our newest PC were sophomores.
The only thing that might effect you rushing as a sophomore is to why you are rushing. If anyone has information like you dropped on bid day, rejected a bid or got kicked out of the process we will probably drop you.

If you have already established friends in sororities, each of their council team will find out one way or another if you dropped a bid/etc through your friends because of social media. They’ll see what mutual friends you have and most likely end up asking your friend how they know you/why you didnt rush fr year.
