why is oregon state greek life so much stronger?
by: puddlesIts weird seeing as it is an engineering school, and this is a liberal arts school, but it just seems as though their greek life is so much stronger. They have nicer physical, houses, multiple nationally recognized chapters by nationals (OSU Sig Ep and Lambda are both nationally recognized and used as examples as an ideal chapter by their national offices), they have greater philantropies (OSU Sigma Chi raised 100,000 with their main philanthropy last year), an insanely big Greek Intramural system where all houses participate, even sororitys, And they seem to have more fun Greek traditions like the All Greek SING competition where sororitys and frats are partnered and do a synchronized singing and dancing routine for 10 minutes that they practice 8 hours a week for 4 months before performing in costumes during moms weekend, Jump day for the fraternities (where every new pledge has their name read, and they run down the MU steps and are launched into the arms of their house waiting at the bottom), among other things such as large dayfades where they get parade permits to close off streets. All UO Greek life seems to be about is tearing other houses down, and putting on a fake image for others. There's not as much going here it seems. Why?

I guess, but that doesn't explain why they have 2 nationally awarded chapters, and have philanthropies that raise a ton more?
