frat and sorority houses

why are there more sorority houses than frat houses and can those sorority houses become frat houses?

Fraternities with houses (11):
ΧΨ, ΣΦΕ, ΑΣΦ, ΛΧΑ, ΔΥ, ΣΑΕ, FIJI, ΔΤΔ, ΔΣΦ, ΣΝ, ΘΧ

Sororities with houses (12):
ΓΦΒ, ΑΦ, ΚΑΘ, ΠΒΦ, ΔΖ, ΧΟ, ΔΔΔ, ΑΧΟ, ΚΚΓ, ΣΚ, ΔΓ, ΚΔ

So it’s about even. All sororities on campus are housed I think because their nationals requires them to get a house once they charter, not totally sure.

Pretty sure the DZ house used to be the phi delt house back in the days when they were still on campus, so in theory a frat could take a sorority house
