interfraternity love

FRATERNITY

There is more said than the sororities, just because it's coming from a girl… I felt obligated to write my personal love for these houses.

AEPI: Bunch of nice dudes in this house. Not the most attractive house but realistically these are the type of guys that are accepting of everyone which is so nice for a change. They throw public parties and have a pretty great brotherhood going on. Heard they are losing their house, not entirely sure if it's true, but expect them to throw even more because of that. Underrated pledge class

ASIG: HUGE improvements from last year, mainly because they got Phi Psi’s house. They got a big pledge class this year as well so the fraternity is also growing which is always a good thing. Their parties are low key but you’ll have a good time regardless. Brothers tend to keep to themselves but have been reaching out to other fraternities. Brotherhood seems very tight as well. Be on the look for yet another big pledge class in the spring!

ATO: Their name is definitely getting put out there as they are constantly showing up to philanthropies and love to wear their letters around campus. ATO has a very close brotherhood because of their relatively small size as of now, but I can see them growing soon. Really chill guys who know how to have a good time. A big pledge class for this spring would help them dearly.

Chi Psi: Not the most popular fraternity here but these guys are very welcoming. They know their position on campus so they take advantage of it by just being themselves and not anyone they’re trying to be. Still gonna remain where they belong, but hopefully, they get a few more guys.

DSIG: Delta Sig has some really cool dudes. Parties have stayed consistent, and I heard their toga party was pretty cool too. They are all very chill guys who know how to have fun either at parties or just hanging out. Their house is also very close to campus and on the safe side so the walk is never that bad. They have close ties with some sororities which helps their social scene. Their tailgates are also cool and they even provide some free drinks which is always good. No huge changes as of now, but both guys and girls like them for good reasons.

DTD: The Delts have gotten very popular as this pledge class is by far one of the more social ones. Because of that, their parties have been killer all year and their themed ones are always a blast. Boys have always been husband material and a lot of nice girls hang with them because of that. Also heavily involved, the smartest/hardworking (top in grades by .20) and seems like they have a good rep with other frats and strats. If they continue what they are doing now and recruit more social boys, they will thrive. They are gaining a lot of momentum right now so definitely the house to watch for in the spring.

DU: Not the most popular fraternity, but the guys seem nice. I’ve met a few good ones and they are pretty funny. Also lost their house which sucks, but hopefully they can come back. They are very close to sigma kappa which will be good for them to keep that social scene going. Might not be the most ideal fraternity right now, but if you would like some social aspect at college, this is the house for you.

FIJI: Heard these boys are getting the AEPi house, if that's true, that would be game-changing. Their live out (The Compound) is still thriving for the best tailgates and day fades here, boys are all so chill and memes in a good way. They pull a lot of girls because of that and the boys have been getting more involved around Greek Life. You will make lasting memories when hanging out with them. They also play some dope music and should be a major contender to look for in the spring.

KSig: I honestly don’t know too much about these boys, but heard that they are very laid back and have some chill parties. Boys are lookers but wished they were involved or had a house. Because of that, they are getting more and more irrelevant on campus, but they got a big pledge class this fall so hopefully, they turn things around. Networking with other fraternities would help them as they only tend to keep to themselves.

Lambda: These drama free boys are so nice and really care about their chapter. All of the boys are smoke shows and mostly from the west (cali) and can easily be your best friend. Having the Beta House is also an upgrade. Their parties are always so fun to be at and they also throw some dumb lit tailgates as well. They’re always a blast to be around and you can guarantee a good time with them. Brotherhood is big for them so they always go all out for parties. Involvement and grades would help them a lot, but they will remain where they are now.

PIKE: Pike boys are very enthusiastic who value brotherhood above all else. They’re a “go big or go home” type of fraternity, which is why they all show up to sorority philanthropies and their own as well. They value membership attendance and it really shows how strong this brotherhood is. Parties can be a hit or miss and some of the guys don’t really know their limits. This pledge class was mediocre at best but could be better in terms of social awkwardness/personalities. Personally, I don’t think a house could fix their behavior, but it certainly would help its national organization. Not the best year, but working there.

PiKapp: Guys seem nice and heard that they play some really good music at their tailgates. Their liveout is pretty cool, but not the most involved group of guys. Getting a house is a need for them as they already have some solid foundations in place. They also have fun themed parties here and there, they threw a fun Christmas party at the end of fall term. Recruitment in the spring will help them a lot because they truly are some nice dudes. They have work to do, but it would be worth it.

SAE: They get a lot of assumptions outside of Greek Life because of their national reputation, but these boys are different. They always throw ragers with some hot guys and in return, gorgeous girls show up. They have always been a very social fraternity and that's never a bad thing. They have also been getting way more involved in philanthropies which will help them push further than others. Although they are already pretty popular, it seems like they are happy where they are at, and I would agree. Spring will be telling for them!

SAM: Still a small chapter, but everyone in this house is just so down to earth. They love wearing their letters around campus and are proud to be a part of their fraternity. They value the important things: community service, social clubs, school, etc. All the guys I have meet are so kind and mean well. I’m not really sure if they throw parties or not, but these are the type of boys who you introduce to your parents. They also make very nice guy friends! The perfect type of fraternity for people who value brotherhood and personal growth above all else. I think they like where they are going, and so do I :)

Sig Chi: Sigma Chi boys are all so awesome and outgoing. Derby Days is always a huge hit among sororities and that is what keeps them fun. They’re all pretty handsome boys so expect many beautiful girls hanging out with them. However, it was a major loss when they were on social probation and couldn’t do fall rush. Potential new members lost interest when that happened, so their pledge class kinda lacked this year. Their social scene, which already lacked in the first place, hit them really really hard too. and they grew irrelevant for the entirety of fall term and even some of the winter too. Expect a stellar pledge class this spring and hopefully more parties.

Sig Nu: Boys are cute and party hard. Very diverse house in terms of looks which is always a great thing to have as it is accepting of others. Because of this, the chapter recruits heavily if you're from Oregon and/or play a sport which is limiting to PNMs. Not necessarily a bad thing, if you're looking for that type of vibe, which many girls are attracted to. Their house is pretty cool too and they have an amazing brotherhood. They go on a lot of retreats to bond with each other, and it really shows how close of friends they are. Parties are extremely fun too, but brothers go way overboard sometimes. Their pledge class was quality, but expect them to stay where they are now if they only keep recruiting the same type of person.

Sig Ep: Not a fan nor ever go to their parties again. In the hot seat among all of greek life. If your not blonde, skinny, or pretty, good luck having fun with them.

Theta Chi: These boys proved that by getting a house (lambda’s old house) they can make a comeback… and boy did it sure live up to that statement. Both their fall and winter pledge classes were not only enormous but quality boys! Their themed parties don’t get the credit they deserve, but these boys are truly some of the nicest boys here. They are very fun to be with and hang out one on one. There is a good mix of boys that keep this house running and it is working out perfectly. Expect huge things for this house in the spring!
