social life

Does UO have a good greek social life? Like do frats throw a lot of Parties, are there a lot of events, etc.

Fraternities will generally throw a party every week on either Thursday, Friday, or Saturday (many times two parties). They will also host date dashes, formals, and tailgates during the fall and for the spring game. UO Greek life is not going to compare to anything in the SEC, but there is definitely enough on the social calendar here to keep everyone more than occupied.

What they don’t tell you is that you don’t need to be in a sorority to go to any of the parties you just need to be a girl. And don’t get your hopes up with date dashes and socials unless you’re in a top house. The parties aren’t that great.

Freshman and Sophmores go to frat parties, everyone tailgates at Fiji and once you hit 21 its all about the bars. Greek memberahip is truly optional if you are a girl and many drop as soon as they are old enough for Taylors cause, you know, why keep payong those dues??
