insta vs. reality ?

Genuinely curious if being in a sorority is as glamorous and fun as the post on insta that girls make it out to be.
( I have rushed and ended up dropping but sometimes I wonder what I’m missing out on)

Honestly is right, it really depends on the house. Most of my friends are in APhi and say the sisterhood isn’t THAT terrible as people gossip but they definitely aren’t as close as some houses.
My house is middle tier and I feel we are very separated by PC, but those in that PC are close. Definitely depends on the vibe of the house, tier of the house and just overall people in the house. I’m a very loud and outgoing house but joined a middle tier laid back house and I’ve noticed I’m more reserved or “chill”. A lot of people mold to their house since your aroundthose girls so much.

I dropped a mid tier house because the focus was attacking 2 of the higher houses. They are obsessed with bringing one down and the other they are just very jealous of. I have friends in one of the houses and I just got sick on the focus bring on that and not building up our house. We are known for this and the girls who I am friends with in my house feel the same, but don’t dare speak up. I would prefer to be friendly with the other houses. I was told to get on this and go self ranking and rank 2 houses low and say things that are not accurate. First red flag. It don’t want to be part of any house (top, mid or low) that had to resort to spreading untrue stories or post fake things to move up or move another house down::(. I really hope there is a way for the school to stop this,. It’s cruel and just wrong. That’s why I don’t want to be part of it.

Wow. I’m actually in a fraternity, however that was pretty sad to hear from someone who thinks that way about that house and what they are doing to them. That is sad on both ends and really doesn’t justify how Greek life should be :( if you read that and didn’t feel sorry/shed a tear, you are inhumane.

Everything about it made me feel incredibly insecure to the point of tears at times so I dropped bc I didn’t really want to be a part of something that made me feel that way about myself for the sake of having special letters in my insta bio.
