what makes a certain house "top tier"?
by: fall rusheeI see rankings with aphi, chi o, or dg as "top tier" but i dont know why. Is it based on like popularity and reputation or on like gpa and philanthropy and events they plan? I am gonna rush in the fall and want to know how these rankings are based and if i should be actually taking them into consideration when looking at a house or if they if they are an insignificant popularity contest.

It's against the rules to ask PNMs about their finances directly but I remember being asked more subtle questions about money like what my parents do for a living, if I brought a car to school and if so what kind, if I received any scholarships from the school, where I got my clothes from and more things like that. Even though no one asked how much money my family had there were coded questions that revealed if someone was wealthy or not.

It’s absolutely a popularity contest. And the people who post that these are the top houses are either in those houses or are fraternity men who want to meddle and are interested in girls from those houses. No one cares about “ranks” except men who have no place in the recruitment process. Find a chapter that fits your personality and has causes that you care about.

but no one cares accept for freshman who want to put their letter in their bio and brag that they are an aphi or dg or some scummy frat guys who wanna say the hooked up with a top tier
some of the rudest and prude houses can be top tier while some of the worst sisterhood and most could be in a bottom tier
its all about where you feel at home!

lol how would you even know how much money the girls have when they rush?? no one asks you how rich you are or asks to see your savings account hahaha. How rich you are doesn't matter when rushing at all literally no one brings it up
