Will I be at a disadvantage if I rush as a sophomore? I heard sororities have to take a certain number from each class.

personally, I got dropped by some houses that I thought i had really good convos at. I definitely ended up in the right house for me, but yes, some houses will drop you if you rush as a sophomore.
