Any advice for someone who hates talking about themselves or isn't good on the spot? I'm just nervous about the face to face stuff. I've got a great profile hope it's enough to show the real me so I can find the best fit.

I wish Greeks wouldn't chime in with these unintelligent responses. Sigh. I assume this PNM is only shy until they know people, so they want to avoid that. It's not that uncommon really. I would advise to relax and focus on what you have in common. If it helps just share that you are shy up front.

for rush, frat or sorority, we rely on the conversations so they're v important. you could look like mother teresa on paper but be a total psycho in person. Your gpa and volunteer experience can only mean so much, personality is a huge thing.

In most houses, they will give you questions so you can talk about yourself. Don't just shut down and answer with only one word. Remember, they WANT you to open up and be comfortable. Don't be weirded out if they turn the focus onto you, that's how it works. Go with the flow and yeah like what To Bruh said, focus on what you have in common.

After reading all the threads I just feel like my looks and outfits will be on display and it doesn't even matter what I have to say

Hi I understand where you're coming from and it is tough, I used to be there. But the fact is, you're gonna have to get over this real soon and not just for rush. You have to learn how to sell yourself not just for rush, but things like job or even campus club interviews. Think of this as a great first step into the rest of your life

in order to really find out where you fit, you are going to have to put yourself out there. If you don't talk and share stuff about you any chapter is going to have a hard time deciding if they are going to invite you back. By talking and sharing as much as possible you are making it possible for the members of the sororities to decide if you are a good fit for their chapter.
