what time do recruitment events start?

I have evening classes some days during sorority recruitment! What time do things usually start? I'm worried I'll miss things or be late

It depends on the day, but around 4:30 at the earliest on weekdays, and then starts at 10-12 on weekends. Try not to schedule any classes in the evening or just know you'll have to miss a couple. Also make sure your Monday's are free after 6pm so you can go to chapter fall term

Wait until the recruitment meeting when you get the exact times. Then if it's a conflict, figure out if mandatory attendance is actually mandatory, because sometimes that just means they use iclickers or something else to take attendance. If it's a big class (more than 60+/not a writing class) you'll be able to get away with leaving early the first week. If anything, try to move the class some other time in your schedule or decide if you want to take something else. Good luck with recruitment!

You'll hear from your Rho gammas that classes and academics come first, so they'll tell you not to skip any classes for recruitment. But look at it from the sororities' perspectives. They only have so many bids to give out, and they're gonna give it to the girls they know better.

As a freshman you should be able to move your evening classes to an earlier time, or just drop those classes and take new ones altogether because it's not like you have to take these classes fall term right away since you have so much time.

Idk if you've seen the schedule, but leadership days wont start until 7 pm so you are 100% fine. You may be a tiny bit late for bid day but that's totally okay! Im sure your new sisters will still be just as excited to see you! and if you really feel worried about it, you can drop the class and re-join later in the week(Because the registration deadline isnt until the end of week 2 for most classes). Academics really do come first and your rho gams will definitely tell you to please never ask a prof if you can leave early for recruitment, because it will reflect poorly on you and FSL as a whole.

thank you! this is really encouraging. If things start at 7 then I'm 100% fine. It was really hard to get a spot in that class so i dont want to drop it.

What, why are you joining a sorority if classes/education is your priority?

There's a form you get to fill out at the first recruitment meeting where you can be excused from recruitment events for class. Or you can miss part of a class. Your Rho Gamma's will be able to help you make this choice so DON'T WORRY! :)
