houses??

Morehead student here. Why don’t any of the frats at NKU have houses? The top 5 at Morehead do. How do you have parties and such? Just interested.

In highland heights, it is against the law to have 7 or more women living in the same house without being considered a brothel so they can't have housing or it would be considered that type of housing

Alpha Sigma Phi has 2 unofficial houses. ATO and TKE have unofficial ones as well. Fraternities aren’t allowed to have houses because sororities weren’t allowed back in the day due to a law saying more than x amount of women in a house was illegal. So since sororities couldn’t do it, neither could fraternities.

It is a law in highland heights (the city nku is in) that there cannot be greek houses. They have been trying to get it removed for years.

Just glancing at the HH zoning code there are definitions for fraternity /sorority house. So I think it's something that could happen if we wanted it to, you would just have to get zoning approved.
