new fraternity rankings - 2015

by: Fraternity Leader

After seeing how the chapters performed and recruited this semester, I have some analysis of chapter performance.

Top:
1. Delta Chi: Have won Greek Week 5 years in a row and showed how strong their brotherhood was through tragic times. Getting them to show up to philanthropic/greek events is like pulling teeth but girls are fervent about them. Could maintain top indefinitely based on reputation.
2. Tau Kappa Epsilon: Second most in philanthropy totals now surpassing their records for Trick or TKE (1300+ in attendance). They have the strongest bank account, the most talked about formal and girls are starting to equate TKE to Delta Chi from a social standpoint. No centralized location is keeping them from progressing but have built a very strong relationship with Alpha Phi.
3. Sigma Chi: King in the past but their sterling reputation was damaged by the shooting as well as poor performance with parties. NAU Faculty and older sorority members love them and Derby Days will keep them running for a while however. Rich history and a strong alumni base will keep them performing well too.

Upper Mid:
1. Phi Sigma Kappa: Have literally no traits setting them apart from mid-tier counterparts except their house. Perceived as awkward generally but ambitious leadership allowed them to collect accolades. Only time will tell as to whether their inertia will pick up better members in the future.
2. Phi Delta Theta: Great participation and have gotten a good word out with the Tomato Pelt philanthropy event. Their strong pledge classes have allowed them to move away from the country frat stereotype and their full wing in mountainview is great for sorority relations. Not much coming from them idea wise though. Nothing really that makes them stand apart as of yet.

Middle Tier:
1. KA: One of the best looking fraternities on campus apart from top tiers. Easily the most gentlemanly besides Sigma Chi. Only thing that keeps them from progressing is their abysmal participation. Rarely throw parties, have no events of their own. Considered widely as a glorified weight lifting club.

Upper Low:
1. Sigma Tau Gamma: They've always had a party/weed smoker reputation. Seems as though they're in it for the brotherhood and girls are increasingly showing up to their parties. Can't say much else about them which is part of the problem.
2. Sigma Nu: Increased relations with Pi Beta Phi and great showings at tailgates has gotten their name out quite a bit. Their younger members are more ambitious in leading the fraternity upwards since they got off suspension, but they have a long way to go because of their association with taking pledges with no real cost, and taking guys who regularly lightsaber duel. If they move away from recruiting to stereotypes of fraternity guys who never wanted to be in a fraternity, they will shoot up because of their rich history (oldest existing fraternity on campus).
3. FIJI: Total goobers who possess some really strong intelligence, seem to have a good head about where they are located on the rankings and have committed to improvement since the beginning. The one party I attended was a complete sausage fest unfortunately. Need several years to progress.

Some of the things I used to rank top tier chapters:
Membership needs to be 80+ on average and the top three are the only chapters to do this consistently. Need to have a good presence with Alpha Phi, Gamma Phi, and Tri Delta. Need good performance in their own events philanthropically. Need to throw the biggest/best parties (including satellite houses). Need above average to excellent academic performance in comparison to the campus average. Higher dues, and better formals. Attract hotter girls. Etc. etc. etc.

Did "fraternity leader" sleep with every chapter's president/treasurer to gain insight into each chapter's financial standing? Like how do you know that Theta Chi is the only chapter that can buy a house? These rankings are about as useful as an ejection seat on a helicopter. In general, fraternities have been terrible this semester because of the nuisance party and the shooting.

I railed everybody to gain what was generally common knowledge, yes.
