greek life
by: anonSeriously concerned. I'm transferring in this fall from California. One of my close friends already goes to NAU, I was being somewhat shallow joking around saying I wanted to try and join the hottest sorority. I have a 3.8 GPA so I assumed if it was an academic issue, I could still get in. But, after reading everything on here about the sororities.. I'm not even sure I want to get involved in greek life anymore. This sounds horrible. Everyone completely bashes each other and the sororities that sound like fun are apparently filled with airheads? I thought greek life was suppose to be filled with a huge amount of friendship/brotherhood/sisterhood. Not sure what happened but greek life sounds awful with all of the fighting going on on a simple discussion board. Disappointing.

Unfortunately the criticisms you see here are insecure members touting their organization to mask insecurity. Joining Greek Life was probably one of the most significant and important decisions I've made. Go out to the recruitment events and get a feeling for the girls, you won't be disappointed. Although you can find some legitimacy in recurring opinions on this site, you have to wade through the insults to find it. Don't give up on it, you'll regret missing what could've been the best time of your life.

Don't listen to this website, NAU Greek life is one of a kind in that we support other organizations besides our own! Most of the sororities have great sisterhoods. Give recruitment a try and you can always drop of you don't like it. But you shouldn't rush based on who the hottest sorority is, that is just shallow and not classy. You might not think it but we can tell what kind of person you are just from a 15 minute conversation in recruitment.

how can you say that, do you know her? For all you know this person could be a psychopath. Would a psychopath fit nicely in the Greek community?

if you want to join greek life for the love and support then chi o , tri delt, and gphi are your best three options. I'm in another sorority on campus, and I'm disappointed that I didn't know that during recruitment, everyone is on their top game, so the show that every puts on isn't real. Unfortunately, I fell for the red dresses and now I'm apart of something that isn't even a sisterhood. Just remember, you will find your true home, and if it's in one of those three i mentioned, you will love your time at NAU

Hey guys, might wanna be careful what you say to incoming freshies and transfers, I work in administration and I heard them talking about everything on here. The schools already on the frits because of some complaints from current members about other frats/sororities. Just a heads up to be careful, last thing we want is to be put on probation at rush because of some stupid comments on a website.
