unsure about joining the greek life as a transfer

I have a few questions and I know this isn't the place to ask them but what the heck:
1. I was wondering as a transfer student that just got housing off campus can I rush and still keep the apartment off campus and just go to all the functions the sororities have?
2. Will the prices change if I am living off campus?

1. Yes - plenty of people live off campus and still are in fraternities/sororities that live in Mountain View
2. No
