trap--initiation is the end of the line

If you've asked to drop who you pledged and have been told, "oh, just wait for Initiation before you decide..."
Do NOT fall into that trap. Once Initiatiated, you may NEVER, EVER pledge another NPC sorority. Ever. You're done, and stuck with your sorority forever. (And may be on the hook financially, but that varies)
Beware.

They tell you all this during recruitment week? Sometimes it pays off to pay attention. Most sororities will still make you pay if you don’t drop by a certain time because if you signed a formal pledgeship to pay.

It’s actually good advice, “well duh”. Recruitment is overwhelming for PNMs and no one is thinking about how to DROP their future freaking sorority—they’re just trying to get a bid.
