legacy
by: LegacyI'm thinking about going to UNT in the fall and I'm a pi phi legacy but I heard they're crazy and have fallen here, they don't have a website so I can't see anything about them :( they're top at my other two choices.

Just because you're a legacy doesn't mean you have to join that chapter! Pi phi has some problems but they're not a bad chapter. They're great at intramurals. They're not super involved, they got last place in greek week this year. They got in trouble for hazing a few years back, and during recruitment different actives told PNMs different stories that didn't add up. They have some really, really pretty girls which makes them popular amongst fraternities. However, they're not all identical and they do have variety in their chapter. I was a legacy for another chapter on campus (one a lot of people would consider top tier) but cut them because I wasn't a big fan. I'd argue that Pi Phi is middle tier/almost top tier. A lot of people argue that they're top tier. They're nowhere near perfect but none of the chapters are. Aside from them not being involved, they're pretty good.

I was a legacy for the chapter I ended up choosing. I felt a lot of pressure from my mom and grandma to join but in the end I am happy with my decision. Go into Pi Phi not thinking about the legacy aspect and see if you would join if you weren't a legacy. They have had some problems in the past but most of those girls are long gone. That is the problem with Greek Rank sometimes is that people can't seem to let go of the past. All chapters have issues but all of them have parts that make them really great as well. I have met a select few rude Pi Phi ladies most of them are really nice. Especially their last few pledge classes. Some do party but honestly every single sorority here does. I have never in my life not seen another woman from a chapter at some party. Go with your gut and not with what other people make you do!!
