greek life at ohio university

The whole rush process was a joke. Greek involvement is irrelevant. Don’t need to pay money to meet friends and party. So many better organizations out there that you can be a part of that actually matter and make a huge difference.

The rush process is what it is and this year was not good but you do realize that many clubs or other orgs have fees? So you are "paying money to meet friends". Don't dis the people who want to be a part of greek life, if you don't want to be part of it fine but don't put down those who do as buying friends. As far as making a difference....all greek orgs support a cause just look into their philanthropies. They all support local groups so they do make a difference.

Do greeks pay to buy friends?

Do you spend money on 'cool' clothes, designer purses, status cars to 'buy' into the 'best' group in your dorm, or in your home town to be with the "cool" crowd?
Are you paying tuition so you will be with people who choose college students as friends?
Maybe the word is "hypocrite'.

People were predicting Greek life wasn't going to be on OU campus a few years ago, the reckless few ruined it for most. I was glad to be a part of it and graduate when I did

I agree 100%. There is no way pledges or members from 7 different fraternities ratted out their chapters. There’s definitely something they aren’t telling us

don’t be so quick to buy into that theory. That may be the case for a fraternity that already got a cease order but the investigation is a direct response to the situation with a pledge who died. The investigations into all the fraternities could take forever.
