fall 2019 rush

by: newfratbro

I'm going into my sophomore year and want to rush and hoping to get any advice. I haven't made my mind up on who to rush yet. Anyone got tips on how to rush/who to rush? Is it possible to rush more than one frat at a time? Definitely trying to explore all my options.

Hey man, you can rush as many as you want but it’s easier to stick to 2-4. Each fraternity has it’s pluses and minuses for different reasons, but it’s where you feel the most comfortable and if you blend well with the guys.

You can’t go wrong with Phi Psi, Beta, Acacia, Sig Chi, FIJI, PIKE, or Phi Tau.

Thanks for the replies. Still curious on how to rush more than one frat cause if I remember correctly from fall rush last year, most frats had their rush events at conflicting times. Do you have to show up to each event for the full time to be considered for a bid?

When I rushed, I went to rush events for 4 different fraternities. Sometimes I left early, sometimes I stayed the whole time. I encourage you to go to at least 3 whole days for each fraternity - that way you get the best view. By day 2, you will have a good idea about which ones you want to keep going to or not.

since you clearly dont know. 1. You can go to multiple fraternities events in 1 day. even if they're at the same time, just go to one for 30 min, talk to as many bros as possible, then go to the next. Also, you can go to a different frat each day. They won't hold it against you if you do this. as long as you talk to enough people so as to think that they'll be able to put in a good word for you when they're voting, you should be fine. By the end of rush week you should concentrate on the house(s) that you realistically think you want to join/will give you a bid, and let them know you're interested.
