out of state pnm
by: OOSI am an incoming freshman from the Chicago area and thinking of rushing. I do not know anyone at OU but I fell in love with the school and Athens when I visited. My question is this...do you need to know anyone in the houses to get a bid? Do houses look at OOS girls? I am a legacy to a house and I don't know if that will help. Should I get recs, or is that not a big deal here? Thanks so much. Excited to be a Bobcat!

You absolutely do not need to know anyone in the chapter ignorer for them to extend a bid to you! I am a legacy who did not know too many people when I came to OU at first, this however did not put me at a disadvantage in any way. It is sometimes more likely that you'll get a bid from whatever chapter your a legacy from but don't let that be a deciding factor! You'll be fine! GO GREEK!!

I am an out of state girl who went though recruitment. Don't worry what so ever about not knowing anyone. I knew 0 people going to OU my freshman year. If anything, I it is a talking point for you during recruitment since it is something that makes you different. Best of luck! Go Greek!!
