incoming freshman disappointed
by: SadSo I was planning on rushing this fall because I'll be a freshman. I was very excited because my older friends said that it's a wonderful experience and you make many friends. I really thought it was a positive, uplifting, "girl power" type of deal to be apart of Greek life. After ready all these posts... I feel like it's a big joke. I'm not ready to throw myself back into middle school just because I thought I was furthering my character and building happy relationships. Why did everyone lie to me..

Rushing seriously is an amazing experience. Don't listen to this site it's honestly just a few of the same people who have problems with individual girls and think bashing their sorority on here is going to make them feel better. I have great friends in literally every sorority and there are amazing things about each one. When you're actually at school no one is going to like you more or less when they find out what sorority you're in and I promise this website isn't how it is in real life. Rush, please I promise you'll be happy you did. And to whoever keeps bashing everyone, Stop. You're not making your sorority look better you're making all of Greek life look terrible. I promise promise promise this site is nothing like Greek life is in real life. It's like social media people on here can portray themselves and especially others in a way they're really not. Don't listen to it. Just wait and PLEASE rush when you get to school, you'll regret not.

Please don't look at this site as a way of what greek life is like. I know that this site makes it look bad but it is honestly people who are looking to cause problems. It honestly is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I now have sisters to always rely on, and I friends in other chapters on campus who I also can rely on. Greek Life is a community. This website is honestly BS. If you are interested in greek life, give it a chance. The worst that happens is that you decide that it is not for you.

Ditto to the previous posts. Don't feel discouraged by the few bad apples that continue to come on this site to bash each other. Joining a Sorority will give you the opportunity to be a part of a great support system, build a leadership role, give back through philanthropic activities and build friendships that will last a life time. This site is a joke but being a part of a great sisterhood is not. Have an open mind and give it a chance. The worse that can happen is that you find that Greek Life is not for you. You will never know unless you try.
