dg always has open spring recruitment

So my question is why does DG always have open spring recruitment? I thought they were ranked higher and from what I can see .So like other higher rank sororities do informal by invite only because they only need a handful while DG takes like 20 plus why is that?seems like drop rates are really high.

They're dues are the highest on campus so they always lose a significant amount of their new pledge class plus some older girls who don't live in the house that decide their $900 per semester is best spent elsewhere. Pretty sure all the other houses are $550-700 per semester
