sorority spring rush

When I transfer during the spring semester, I will be a first semester junior. I've seen that everyone says it's fine to rush as a junior, but should I even bother if I'll have to do informal recruitment or could I still do formal in the fall? I'll be there at least two more years after I transfer until I graduate if that matters at all. I'd really like to transfer next fall but I unfortunately won't be done with my associates yet and though I'd really like to join a sorority, I'm just wondering if I have any chance. Thanks!
