Small things that I'm worried abt with fall recruit
by: futureAs a girl who has been on the defensive about rushing and heard a lot of random things I'm a little confused. How much do the little things matter? Like I know Chi Omega isn't on campus with the rest of the sorority house so are they ever left out of things and how hard is getting there and stuff, I assume it's not awful because other houses are there too and the bus but still? Also saw that kappa doesn't have a big house but the other post said it's still a nice house and stuff so how much will that matter. One thing I've heard alot of girls talk about around me is dirty rushing and how bad it is here. I'm literally just nervoues about all of these things and can anyone say they only pref. one house and got it back.

All the sororities have something good to offer! However, chi omega is being forced to move to campus soon or else they will loose their chapter so their dues are about to absolutely skyrocket (got this info from trustworthy friends in chi o)and the sheet that y’all will be shown does not reflect what y’all will actually have to pay to be a member of chi omega. Kappa kappa gamma and pi phi are in the small older houses, both of them have great qualities and great girls if you don’t care about the fact that you will be paying just as much if not more than the girls living in the big, beautiful, and brand new houses. I’m not trying to bring down any sorority at all and they are all great with beautiful and amazing girls but there are pros and cons to all! Just trying to keep y’all aware!!

chi o, kkg, AXiD all have plans to move into greek village/build a nee houde, its just a matter of when NC State allows them to start building, all finances of all chapters are on the nc state Panhellenic website, but the cheapest sorority in terms of dues are axid because they don’t require a meal plan for their members.

honestly you should go through the process of rushing because you don’t have to join a chapter at the end if you don’t want to. these are questions that you should be asking during rush to the active members. ie whether people carpool for meals, if there’s busses that go to the house often, how was their experience living in the house, etc. there’s no harm in trying but to get a real grasp on how people deal with these small “issues” is something you ask during the rush process.

was in the same boat a year ago and honestly at the end of the day I would just go into it with an open mind and find the girls you see yourself in and the ones you see yourself growing as a person around. the house really doesn't matter. Ive been in kappa and it was cute. AXiD has a townhome and its cute too. Chi O is a commute but I LOVE their physical house so don't stress a building too much.

chi os house is off campus, but there is a bus route that goes directly to their house and lots of girls carpool. they aren’t left out of any events to my knowledge. their dues are currently the lowest of all the chapters because they live off campus. all of the girls in chi o are so so genuine! the house is beautiful and i think that just because it’s off campus doesn’t mean they are any worse off.

I would imagine any sorority in or moving to the new houses would have similar dues. Are chi o girls paying a lot less than the girls in DZ, Zeta, DG, etc.? What about the sorority in those new half houses/apartments? (Azd?) Are their dues similar?
