disappointed

by:

I just toured NC State and was so disappointed by the campus, and especially how you have to cross a huge highway to get from campus to your lame Greek row. So many other campuses have their houses on or near campus and the houses themselves are beautiful. USC, UVA, UNC Chapel Hill have much better Greek environments in my opinion. Does having to cross Western Blvd get on your nerves? It doesn't even seem like a traditional college campus. And evidently one of the strongest frats has their house several miles off campus?? WTF?

Good thing you can't get in anyways

Ummm....I will definitely get in and will get in better schools than yours. NC State looks like an office park from the 1970's. It was unimpressive in so many ways.

Good luck where you end up, sounds like you are not Wolfpack material anyway and definitely not Greek life. Later loser.

He's got a point, though. I love NCSU but I hate our Greek "village" and Hillsborough St is a nightmare with all the construction. We can't come across very well to people touring.

Please, for the love of all that is good on this Earth, go to UNC or UVA over NCSU. State & its students will try so hard to say it's on par with schools like these-but as you expressed regarding just one aspect, nothing about State remotely compares to that of world class, nationally ranked institutions like UVA of chapel hill. Sorry not sorry.

Then why post this? The fact that you came and toured, didn't like it, and then felt the need to get online and list the reasons you didn't like it maybe says something further about you. People go to different schools for different reasons. I'm sure potential civil engineers get really conflicted when comparing the fraternity houses of the institutions you named. Raleigh is consistently rated one of the best places to live in the country; Chapel Hill is essentially a commuter town. Anyway, you sound like someone that gets under people's skin.. maybe you should reconsider Greek Life in the first place.

Chapel Hill is a commuter town? That's ridiculous. It's a college town. Unlike Raleigh, and especially the Hillsborough st area.

No kidding!! Have you ever even BEEN to Chapel Hill? I go there every chance I get and I'm a student at State. My bros are in Sigma Nu and we can walk to every frat house/bar easily. I'll be there for Halloween again because since it's a COLLEGE town, they shut down Franklin st. No way that could ever happen here.

State isn't a traditional college town. Raleigh would survive just fine without the college, the same can't be said for most other universities. If you have a problem with that, don't come here... It's not that difficult to understand

By: and?
by: ??

Why does it matter that Raleigh would survive without State? That's a ridiculous argument. UNC and UVA aren't going anywhere so it is a moot point. What does it say that your best frat isn't anywhere near State? Being in Raleigh hasn't enhanced a State student's experience. It's actually a negative.

Its not an argument. Its my way of saying, if you don't like it, you don't have to come here. If you are looking for a traditional college campus, then look elsewhere. No one is forcing you to come to State. Enjoy your traditional lib university

He's not wrong you know. Mediocre women, unattractive campus, and no significant bar scene. At least we make good engineers??? lmao

By: hah
by: Ha

How about absolutely NO bar scene. For juniors and seniors that are over going to frat parties, Hillsborough st has little to offer. This is when being in a college town would be much better.

do none of yall go downtown? haha head about 2 minutes further down hillsborough and you'll find a bar scene that makes franklin street look like a high school kegger

I'm a college student - I don't want to go a couple of minutes down Hillsborough to a bar scene dominated by people 10 years or more older than me.

Clearly you've never been to any bar in downtown Raleigh. The primary crowd is upperclassmen and recent college grads, not your parents. If your lazy ass actually tried you'd realize it isn't far and there's a pretty legit bar/restaurant scene that's definitely on the up right now
