second semester sophomore rush

Due to conflicting schedules Freshman year and now during rush, I was unable to participate in rush for the fall semester. However, Im still wanting to rush. Do many frats have informal rush during spring semester and would being a second semester sophomore hurt my ability to be considered for a frat?
