Aephi does not recruit girls of color except for the bare minimum one girl or two every couple of years. girls of color, like everyone else, are forced to visit every sorority during the first round (or first few rounds) of recruitment. every year, girls of color who wish to join greek life are forced to enter the room of a sorority with known racially discriminatory recruitment tactics. Imagine the discomfort that they feel. imagine the heartbreak of girls who really wanted to be part of aephi knowing that their race will prevent them in the name of "image". Imagine how the few girls of color they accept so that they don't have literally zero WOC feel. It's similar, I'm sure, to girls of color rushing at Ole Miss or somewhere similar, and it should not be the way people have to feel here at NYU, one of the most diverse and liberal schools in the country.
That's all. AEPhi, maybe respond to this instead of paying yet another $5 to remove the post of yet another woman speaking out. Have some empathy for the girls who you are excluding and explain yourselves, those girls deserve a response.

I think that there's a difference between girls recruiting based on attractiveness, and girls recruiting based on attractiveness with the added criteria of race being mixed in. Feeling like you weren't good enough because not "hot" or skinny enough is one thing, but to feel like it's because of your race is much more brutal, in my opinion. At this point I think someone should bring the issue to panhel, because posting on this website won't do anything.

i’m not in any of the top “tiers” but i watched zta’s story w/ all the new members and even tho they didn’t have several black nms they still had a lot of diversity w/ other races which counts for something. can’t say the same for pi phi tho tbh
