dont post bias
by: election???as a member who is an independent, it is really rude to see orgs openly sponsoring presidential candidates online through official accounts. my org did and i feel like they should not be speaking for me. its one thing to post resources but its another to make that leap to tell everyone in our org to vote for a certain person.

disagree with this. your org is more than just you and i'm sure if they reached the decision to openly sponsor a specific candidate it was something they thought through / supported by the mass etc. this election, human rights are on the ballot. they're not "speaking for you" if you vote for someone else, at the end of the day we're all independent voters but they do have the right to make collective decisions, that's why they're exec

sororities are organizations that model themselves on certain values. exec board members are elected because your chapter members believed that they were good representatives and interpreters of your chapter's values. the exec members you voted in might be of the opinion that vocalizing support for certain issues is more in line with those values than staying silent.
some chapters might have values like humility and serenity, while others may have values like passion and justice. the whole point of values-based recruitment is that you seek out an organization that reflects your own personal values. when you accepted a bid, you decided that the chapter's values aligned with yours, and when you voted for exec, you decided that their interpretation of values also aligned with yours. if you do not have values that align with the chapter's, you should not be a member.
plus, the way that OTHER organizations interpret their OWN values is none of your business if you are not a member. it's not your responsibility to police the ways that every single sorority interprets and exemplifies its own values.
