Colony - BE THE CHANGE
by: PNMIt seems like there are a lot more women that want to go Greek than NYU is allowing. They are also not increasing the total sororities may extend a bid to. If you didn’t get a bid, why don’t we get together and colonize a new chapter of a national sorority. There is tri-Delta, Chi Omega, Phi Mu, a million other nationals that aren’t at NYU.

HI, love this idea but NYU hates Greek life. Please know that this is a large challenge and NYU actively tries getting rid of Greek life at every chance they can. They even came close this year. Adding a chapter is probably not something they would approve of at this time.

Everyone reached total this year, great women didn’t get a bid because there was no space because total was not increased. There is actually a tide turning at NYU and now is the time to colonize. In fact, you don’t need all orgs to reach total to colonize a new chapter. If organizations are not managed correctly, they will fold and new organizations that are well managed will thrive. Not all orgs are the same and you are only get so many women that are going to relate to an orgs values. It’s kind of like saying you can’t open up a new boutique at a mall because one failed. They may have failed because they had nothing to sell, rude customer service or didn’t fit in to the mall. You can’t put Walmart next to Neiman Marcus and think they are going to have the same customers. Depending on the neighborhood, one may need to close. It’s time we take our power back and not wait for someone to extend us a bid. They cannot. They are at total. It’s time to reach out and make Panhellenic bigger and stronger with our voices. It’s not like those that didn’t get bids were rejected when NYU Panhellenic hasn’t done what they are supposed to do, increase total so that orgs could extend bids
(which is a changing number depending on rush).

so essentially you are calling anything under the core 4 failures, as opposed to pnm's not giving them a chance as a result of reading this godforsaken website
