Bids Process.......
by: PnmThis might get some mixed responses but idc. For people that did not receive a bid at 10am, but might like later. Idk I get this feeling like wow I was not there first choice and they are just going down a list. If you get the feeling or get what I am trying to say.

What did you guys think recruitment was then. For formal, girls are numbered 1 to whatever actually, you just dont see it, and a computer sorts through the rankings to place people. For informal it’s not even like that. Recruitment is great and it gives people homes and after the process everyone’s equal so it doesn’t even matter. Also not everyone met every single PNM so rankings aren’t like that deep, it’s based on very few people and has a luck element to it with who you talk to.

Yeah exactly what I thought @bro. Of course, I am not downing the recruitment process...it was fun and everyone is nice but it still hurts.

@bro thought I was the only one that thought this way. I asked myself why I would wanna accept a bid if I got one later being the 2, 3, 4 or even 5th choice. Thats literally horrible.

That’s NOT how it works. Everyone that gets a bid is wanted. Since there was no bid matching and quota, sororities are forced to send out bids in waves. But, if you get a bid, you were always on the list. Sorry NYU process is messed up this year and everyone didn’t get their bid at the same time.

It's not "being a second choice"!!! If you get a bid it means that the organization LOVED you, and if you went to later rounds and don't get a bid it still means they loved you! I understand being frustrated by this process but understand that it's a logistical thing, it happens every year it's just unfortunately this year you guys can see it

Yeah that’s how it normally works but normally all the second wave stuff happens behind the scenes so all the ones just get their bids at the same time and don’t know the difference between 1st v 3rd choice. And if you get a bid later it doesn’t mean that sorority didn’t love you!! It’s just a numbers game. But sorry I’m sure it still sucks :/

i got cut from all my top houses 2 years ago and hesitantly accepted a bid from my bottom house. now i love my sisters and it all worked out for the best! i wish you didn't have to sit in the uncertainty of hearing from a house today, but just know that once you do hear they will welcome you with open arms and that place can become your home <3

you sound stupid, obviously we know how recruitment works but since it's different this year it's more like they are sending out their first picks at 10am so if you get an invite at like 1pm or something it's obvious they did not want you first and you only got an invitation because other people declined. that is a terrible and very valid feeling to be upset knowing that your first pick did not want you first at all.
