Ive never heard of a school having this many problems with recruitment. In most schools they actually guarantee you will get atleast one bid even if its not from your top choice. Considering NYU also isnt even such a big greek life school, their should be a spot for everyone IMO. But i guess everyone is trying their best in this weird situation.

Woah this is so not true. No school under Panhellenic rules can EVER guarantee bids to all who sign up. This is a problem at every school... Also a majority of women are still going to orgs that they like, myself included. This process wasn’t a bust, not everyone is happy during formal recruitment too. People also get dropped by all orgs before the process is over during formal as well, this is not an issue of this process but just how recuitment works unfortunately.

The process wasn't a bust to you... And thats good for you! Your lucky. But the majority of this page has been girls feeling horrible about themselves because nobody invited them back regardless of whether that means they are dropped or not. As of right now im also going to the org/s i want but its a horrible feeling to feel rejected and not wanted from any org. I mean i guess yeah your kind of signing up for rejection if you want to go through recruitment and will obviously get turned down.. but from every single org or most orgs after the very first round? That seems a little harsh because you cant really get to know someone after the first day when theres like 5 other pnms in the room with one sister and have like a second to talk and then the breakout room is over so fast. And also... I know many people who are in schools that are big greek life schools and they said their panhellenic council tries as best as possible to make it so the pnms end up somewhere and I've also heard that from personal conversations as well. Yes there are gonna be people who are not happy with the process.. but based off what i see on this discussions page, it seems like a lot of pnms are unhappy with this process and feeling horrible... Not the other way around.

Everyone’s feelings are valid, but we also have to remember that this site is specifically for people who are unhappy about something and want to talk about it in regards to greek life. No one starts a post because they’re so happy about how recruitment is going. I have lots of friends who are super stoked with recruitment and don’t touch Greek rank. Although it seems like there’s an overwhelming amount of unhappiness, it’s obviously skewed because that’s who comes on here. Signing up for recruitment is always taking a chance, and nothing is ever guaranteed. There are horror stories but there are also life changing amazing ones. Recruitment isn’t all bad, and it doesn’t deserve to be talked about like we were all promised a bid or to get invited back to the org we had our heart set on, it’s always hard, but for many it works out, even if it doesn’t feel that way right now.

Okay this ^^^ This site blows up every year with unhappy PNMs because they wanted one org going in and didn’t get it, or get dropped before bid day by all orgs. It’s not this year you guys, it’s every year! This is not new, and this is not NYU specific. You’ve never heard of girls getting dropped by all orgs before at other schools? It happens all the time. It’s a numbers game, and the process doesn’t promise bids anywhere, and not here.
