PLS don't beat yourselves up about rush!!!

by:

i'm also going through this process and it makes me so sad to see so many people beating themselves up about rush and getting so upset.
1. greek life is SUCH a small part of nyu
- i totally understand the desire to find a community and realize greek life is a super convenient way to do that. at the same time please don't think this is representative of whether people like you at nyu or nyu at all - greek life is TINY at nyu and there are literally so many students at this uni. there r so many ways to make friends getting devastated over this isn't worth it. you can always rush again next year.
2. online recruitment is obviously not perfect and can be inaccurate, but what can we do
why get upset about people's opinions of you - people who met you for < 5-20 minutes and never even met you in person? it's impossible for us and them (the sisters) to accurately know each other. online recruitment is not going well for a lot of people but that isn't anyone's fault and doesn't mean formal recruitment next year won't be awesome for you

ok also. this is such a smart of life all your feelings are totally valid and normal and i'm empathetic but please don't be so harsh on yourself for something like this. it isn't helpful or constructive.

again though, i understand (and i'm sure other people do. everyone's friendlier than you think.)

i don't know how i'm not supposed to beat myself up. i literally haven't made a single friend while I've been here. this would have been such a great way to meet people and i screwed it up.
