rushing feelings - use this post!

by:

Hey guys! I'm a pnm that doesn't really know anyone else rushing, and my rho gamma group really doesn't speak to each other. I just wanted to know how everyone was feeling about this process because I've been feeling super alone. Please just use this post as a place to talk - I want to hear it! How are you feeling? What sororities have you heard back from? Are you nervous? Excited? Are you still hoping for invited from sororities you haven't heard from? How has your experiences in the different rooms been? Do you feel like you've met your future big already?

Honestly I really don’t know how to feel. I only got callbacks to the top tier sororities and Ik they are competitive so idk if I’ll even end up in a sorority. Plus after all the sisterhood rounds, I never heard back from any of them and I made sure I had great conversations in all of them. I really don’t know how I’m going to finish the process since Ik this doesn’t mean I’m cut from them but I am worried cause the way they are running things this year is just so stressful on top of midterm season:((((((

I think only one sorority has sent invites for anything past sisterhood round so you still have time!! Don't stress please

It’s been fun for me. Personally, it’s a lot awkward sometimes with my rho gamma group because most of them really like this one sorority (and it seems like a lot of people on here do too) and I just don’t see the hype tbh. Like they’re cool but I’m just not vibing with them so idk why I’ve made it this far with them

I only got called back for two sororities and don’t get me wrong i’m thankful for that, but it makes me nervous i won’t get a bid. one of them literally feels like home. i vibe with them on just another level. i’m so scared i’m getting my hopes up bc if i don’t get a bid from them i’ll literally be crushed. all and all this process has made me really really stressed and i can’t wait for it to be over because the waiting game is killing me. i’m a shy person though so i’m really proud of putting myself out there. i’m doing my best and “being myself” like they always tell you to be- it’s just gonna be a huge blow to my ego if myself isn’t what anyone is looking for. i just want a place that feels like home at school. sad ik. rant over thanks for listening

It’s funny they always say “be yourselves” then pick the same type of girl. I try to stand out and I get nothing in return. what in the world r they looking for in potential girls?

hi pnm who commented ! this is also from a pnm
trust from personal experience. two things
1) they don't always pick the same type of girl. i am that "typical girl" (and i genuinely don't mean this in an arrogant way at all but and was encouraged by all my older friends to rush cause it'd be so smooth it fits me perfectly i'm such a greek life person etc.) got dropped by all the sororities except 1 first day. i know friends who were worried about recruitment who got sm invites too even though they're not that "typical" girl. genuinely!
2) it means nothing. think about how they literally had 2-3 mins to look at and talk w y'all first round of recruitment and invited ppl based on that. why care about someone's judgement of you when they don't even know you or ever met you in person! i totally understand wanting to be in a sorority and the stress and hurt you could feel i was literally devastated when i was dropped cause i felt like i was nothing unique just in a diff way. but then i realized it's all a mindset thing. if you dissect the process it's a bit about luck too! and even if its not who cares. you'll find your home :)

spread love y'all

if you already feel like an org is home, say so. DON’T put down other orgs in the process bc that’s a red flag. but tell your recruiter you feel really connected to their org and can see yourself being a sister. it won’t guarantee a bid but if they will notice your enthusiasm
