Confused on if it’s the right chapter for me
by: Confused pnmSo I got invited to a chapter and was really excited because I really vibed with them. I was excited for the event today but then my roommate and I were talking about our experiences and she shared that they were really rude to her and made a comment that she didn’t feel was appropriate. I trust her and I just don’t like how they treated her and now I’m questioning my perception of this chapter. I don’t want to put them on blast but I’m just confused and upset to hear they may not be treating all PNMs the same.

there are different personalities in every sorority and odds are your roommate had a group that didn't mesh with her personality and those specific individuals were rude about it. it's unfortunate that your roommate had a negative experience in that room but the women she spoke to aren't reflective of everyone in the chapter. i always think it's worth it to give the organization another chance, especially because you did enjoy your time with them. also feel free to hit your rho gamma up, they're trained to help you through the process and answer questions like this.

Yeah, what was the comment exactly? There may have just been a bad egg there, every chapter has them. If all of your other experiences were positive then I would encourage you to not let that ruin your perception. Definitely encourage your roommate to reach out to their Rho Gamma!
