From Zoom, I feel like I am having a heard time figuring out what each sorority's vibe is. They all seemed pretty much the same this weekend.
Do other people feel like they got a solid idea of what each sorority is about?
How selective are they? How will I know if I am being considered?
How many invites should I be expecting to get back this coming week, based on how selective NYU sororities are?

I don't want to know rankings, I just want to be clear on my chance of hearing back in general, not from a specific org. How many options do people usually have?

Thanks

This seems like a post set up to start gossip, rumor, and freak out orgs. Don’t fall into it, let’s keep it positive this year. Wait for longer rounds to form your opinions and get a good feel of the vibes

Because they have quotas to fill mandated by nationals you’re likely to get in to at least one. Even girls that they try to drop usually still in make it in fyi. The rankings (aside from the orgs that are self-promoting) indicate the sororities that recruit based on looks/wealth so they’re more exclusive, hence their “top” rankings. You can pretty much tell who’s actually top by their instas and how hot the girls are, sad and no one likes to admit it, but there it is.

That’s why the kappa stuff is so obvious girls. Why not focus on valuing yourselves for what you are rather than what you’re not? This isn’t high school no one cares who’s popular. Out here trying to pretend they’re the plastics.

That's not how quota works. Quota/Total are set by NYU panhellenic. Yes, national organizations want their chapters to meet quota during formal recruitment & maintain (or be above) total during the year, but they don't set Quota.

Honestly, to the OP - you have a good attitude re. no worrying about a specific organization & keeping an open mind. I think virtual recruitment is a much better way to meet these ladies and not be swayed by outside influences & room decorations. People join people. They don't join instagrams. If you vibe with the person/people you get to talk to on zoom, you will vibe with many more women in that chapter. And your new member class will be the group you are closest to anyway.

Hoping you find your sorority community when all is said & done.
