which sororities are doing spring rush?
by: springrushWhich sororities are doing spring rush? Which would be the best to rush? If I'm a junior is there even any point to rushing?

Yes, there is a point to rushing. Sorority is for life, so even if you only have 1.5 years of the collegiate experience, that's more than you would have if you didn't. At this point, your choices will be limited b/c not every chapter will be doing spring rush, and if you wait until the fall, you may get cut just because you will only be around for another year & they are interested in retention. I'd say expect DG and AST (they did last year) to have spring informal. Whoever is recruiting this semester, give them a chance & check out their recruitment events. Don't listen to what anyone on this forum has to say about them b/c their opinion is irrelevant to yours. The only thing that matters is if you feel like they are people you want to spend time with, and if their national organizations offer an alumna experience after you graduate (they pretty much all do, but some more than others). Good luck. I think all of the sisterhoods at NYU have something to offer - you just have to have an open mind.

At our school we could take juniors and seniors for free. There were so many great aspects about this.
1. They actually made more involved Alumnae. The rest of us were burned out and the idea at a lot of schools is use it for connections later but have a great college party experience. Just as were are pretty much ending our involvement they are beginning.
2. NO HAZING!!! These were the ‘mean girl’s club’ peers. If we had been all freshmen we would have definitely been hazed. The upperclassmen said “Are you kidding? No way!”
3.It added maturity to us and a level of sophistication. We could talk to someone older who we knew better than the actives.
4. Less pledge class divisions between the years. Some of the actives became best friends with the new junior pledges.
5. It added a nice dimension to the houses and mote retention, donations as slums, and some students were busy studying and had a bad stereotype of sororities which changed as they met them in class.
