tier importance?

Do organizations really look down on other organizations for being bottom/mid? I know on this site it's a big deal but in real life, are people in lower tiers snickered about / not thought of as good?

Some sororities and fraternities don't mix or hang out because of tiers. But that's only important or matters if you think it does

It's nyu. our greek life is so small that tiers aren't really a thing. most pegs respect each other and don't care about childish nonsense

Least true thing I've ever read. Tiers matter like high school popularity matters. Doesn't matter in the grand scheme of life but you feel bad if you don't have it. Also the top frats only mix with the top three or four sororities. So half of the sororities don't get to mix with them.

Truth is, I know girls in top tiers who don't get invited to anything. No one talks to them at mixers. On the other hand, I know tons of girls in mid tiers who are good friends with top frats and go to their apartment parties. If you're a cool person, you'll have a great social life no matter what your letters are. Everyone parties in greek life, and open parties are usually more fun than official mixers. If you really like one of the houses but they're not as cool, don't let that stop you. Even bottom tiers have a group of cool girls who party with top frats.
