missing a day, will i get a bid?

I have a family emergency going on back home so I am definitely going to be missing sisterhood round. My top sororities are pi phi, kappa, and zeta. Do you think missing a day will affect my chances at those? Should I wait for spring or next year? How important is sisterhood round

talk to your rho gamma!!! If those sororities like you and know you submitted an excuse for missing sisterhood, there's a good chance they'll still call you back

Tell the girls in your top picks tomorrow that you loved meeting them and that you're sad you have to miss the sisterhood round- if they liked you, they'll be able to vouch for you when their chapter votes

^^ you just have to submit an excuse. ZTA is really competitive so you might get cut but otherwise I'd assume you'd be okay.

If you're a freshmen:

Don't wait for spring because those three don't tend to do spring recruitment

Last year only AST and DG did spring

If you don't get one you want, drop and try again next year- I've known a lot of girls who didn't accept their bids freshmen year and then got bids for better sororities the next year

Update- pi phi called me back for sisterhood, but obviously I wasn't there. Do you think they'll call me back for philanthropy?? They are absolutely my favorite and I really want to be apart of their organization but I also really worried missing may negatively affect me

It's hard to say. If they really liked you, they might. Or if they don't have a lot of pnms then yes. I wouldn't say it's an absolute yes though since this is usually when sororities start being tougher. Don't lose hope though. Even if you don't give pi phi, I'm sure there's another sorority for you even if it might suck losing out in pi phi at first!
