recs?
by: rushieI know nyu isn't a greek heavy school so recs aren't required but coming from the south, I know recs can really help members get to know you. is that the same at nyu? or do you just look weird if you send them?

Honestly, I don't think whether or not you have a rec is going to make much of a difference during recruitment, positively or negatively.
We don't receive too many recs in general (just a handful each fall), and though we'll remember which girls sent in recs, they really do not play into how much you vibe with the girls in the room, and generally wont affect whether or not you get a bid.

agreed. If you have recs ready feel free to send them in but the way the active sisters get to know you is through conversation during recruitment. Just be yourself and have fun :) I promise that having a positive attitude and staying true to yourself during the process will mean a lot more than a rec
