worth it to rush again?
by: wonderingAs implied by the title, I'm an upcoming sophomore who rushed my freshman/last year. I ended up dropping out because I got dropped by pretty much all the ones I liked on the 3rd day (?) which truth be told was my fault for not knowing what I was doing and being on the shy/reluctant side. Anyway, I want to rush again but I don't know if it's worth it since a) I might not get into a sorority b) I rushed before and got dropped so why would this time be different and c) I can't help but think it's a little embarrassing to rush again when I got dropped before? So is it worth it to rush again? Or should I just save my time (and money)?

I'd definitely say it's worth it to give it another go! I know a couple people in my sorority who went through recruitment as a freshman and got dropped but got in when they tried again as a sophomore. So many girls get dropped because really there just aren't enough organizations to accommodate the amount of girls who want to join.

Just be honest with yourself. If the houses dropped you they might drop you again unless you have changed. Girls might remember you and remember dropping you. If you really believe you got dropped because of numbers then def rush again, but it sounds like you think you "deserve" a top house, and we can smell that a mile away and if we dropped you once we'll drop you again. Go into it with an open mind, there's only one bad house at nyu and at least it's a big name.
