what is sorority recruitment like
by: ConfusedI'm rushing in the fall, and I get the general process of going around and talking to different seats and having to dress nice and stuff, but can anyone go into more details about the recruitment processes at nyu?? I know it's different from other schools that have houses and I don't really know what to expect. Will PNMs get recruitment handbooks over the summer?

Not that person but each sorority has a room that they decorate with pictures and food and stuff (I'd recommend don't eat the food because you only have a certain amount of time to talk to the girls and it's harder when you're trying to stuff your face at the same time). It's super packed in each room, and very loud especially on the first two days. You talk to 2-5 girls in each sorority and then the next day you see less and less houses until you get your bid (or don't).

It all takes place in Kimmel and each day of recruitment your Rho Gamma will give you your schedule of which orgs you're talking to when and what the room numbers are. There's an orientation before recruitment starts where they pretty much walk you through the process day by day and explain what each day is about and what to wear and whatnot. Your Rho Gamma will also keep you updated with emails about what to expect each day and more details.
