top sororitys

what are the deciding factors to what sorority is what rank? like for instance, what makes aephi #1 and better than the others? i'm just trying to understand all of this thanks

Switch AST and Kappa 100%. Dphie has also been slightly higher than Aephi these past few semesters, but overall those are definitely the top two chapters

The only reason it seems like AST is middle is because the recruitment committee at AST has an actual job to incessantly check this website and post (comments like above), remove bad reviews, etc. They were the second lowest choice this year-ask anyone at Panhel. A better bet is to look at social media or talk to people in at NYU because this website is too filled with motives to misrepresent

As far as rushing goes, it doesn't really matter what sorority you end up in as long as you like the girls. I see a lot of girls from different sororities all the time when I'm out as well as on campus. And almost all the sororities mix but the frats just prefer DPHIE, AEPHI, and ZTA which is pretty much what the rankings are based on.

Im a member of a Panhellenic sorority and I'm going to try and be as unbiased as possible; I also have many friends in each sorority and feel as though I have a pretty decent opinion of them. I'm going to try not to repeat other comments.

So Alright here so the low-down:
DPhiE and AEPhi are basically matched at the top: they both have beautifully instagram-model girls, they mix a lot with top frats, and basically represent everything you would expect from top sorority. If I had to rank I would put DPhiE above AEPhi since they seem edgier and overall opinion at NYU is that they're top tier. Both haze but that's not always a bad thing.

Zeta is pretty cool. Properly ranked #3 I think. Hazing depends on the semester: some say they never have been hazed, others say lightly. Their philanthropy events are usually super funny and a good time (i.e. 5k and Big Man On Campus) so if you're into joining a sorority for their philanthropy and want a big turn out this is a good one to join.

Pi Phi is the typical sweet girls-next-door. Girls are usually pretty and wholesome looking and they did really well at rush last year. Everyone I know in Pi Phi I love.

In other comments there's controversy between KKG and AST ranking. I would personally rank kappa next. They changed a lot with their last pledge class (girls seem more attractive and outgoing) and they seem to be actively wanting to move up the chain in the future. They're still pretty new so there are still a lot of changes going on. They don't officially mix but they have a lot of unofficial mixers from what I hear from my friends.

AST is super sweet. They officially mix but don't have close relationships with the frats. Looks are a hit or miss but almost all of them are really nice and kind girls. They don't haze either if that's important to you. The chapter gets along really well. Definitely a place where you'd feel comfortable being.

DG is the newest. They didn't do well at rush last year since it was their first and they hadn't really figured out their vibe yet. Personality and looks are literally all over the place which is a negative bc they aren't very cohesive but also can be a positive since that way if you join you'll definitely be able to find your friend group within it. Hate some girls in it but also love a lot. Up to you to decide if it's right for you. Really depends on who you talk to during rush.

AST girls are not smashable

DG girls are the hottest anyone who tells you otherwise is a liar.

WHO in their right mind put Kappa mid???? The self promotion is pathetic

people keep saying dphie is "too weird" now or whatever but I still think they're #1- they're the only ones who are secure enough as top tier to not be obsessively checking and writing on this website some other sororities do....

otherwise, I agree with the rankings here.

pi phi was slipping but they always make a comeback- honestly, during recruitment dphie and aephi fight over the same girls and occasionally zta, and then the rest are split between pi phi, kappa, and zta. everyone's last choices are ast and dg- ironic, because I do think AST has better relationships with the frats (somehow) and even the sororities, but kappa has been more popular than them during recruitment the last two years.\n\n\n\n\n

Rumor has it that AST doesn't have great relationships with frats. I heard that they have mixers and don't show up and that frats don't like mixing with them other than like zbt. I'm a sophomore and want to rush but don't think I'd fit in well with DPHIE or AEPHI so I'm trying to get a feel for the other sororities.

Do frats not like kappa or does kappa choose to not mix? They seem pretty low key but I can't tell if it's because they don't try to do anything or that people don't like them.

Also is Pi Phi a decent sorority or are they falling?

Is ZTA as picky selecting girls as DPHIE?
