greek week 2017 skit reviews

In order of presentation:
Lambda Chi- I thought it was funny. They didn't have as many guys as the other frats usually do, and definitely were winging it but I think they pulled it off. Not enough to place but enough to be entertaining.
DG- Ambitious theme but props for thinking outside of the box. Good for their first ever Greek Week tbh, I'm sure they'll get better next year.
DPHIE- oh my god, you don't even understand how excited we have been for this skit. Shrek???? Genius. Genuinely jealous because we could not pull that off but as always, they had amazing costumes, fun dances, and of course, the most girls on stage. Side note I just really appreciate Dphie because they literally do not feel the need to put any other orgs down, they know they're #1 and they're chill about it. I just really love Dphie lmao sorry- although I will say their skits always have the same structure/ plot line but they also hit all the necessary marks so why fix what ain't broken. Seriously just so much respect for these girls.
Aephi- also another quality skit, also hit all the marks. Felt a little braggy at times but tbh they earned the recognition so I'm down with that. The plot was a little similar to Dphie's last year but again, that's just kind of the standard successful skit plot. Very surprised they didn't place.
DLP- I'm still dead. What a skit. Props to these guys for being hilarious, relevant, and those dances. They deserved that standing ovation.

ZTA: I definitely feel like everyone had very high expectations for Zlamilton and while I don't think they exactly met those expectations, it was still good. Loved their costumes, the songs (duh) and while the plot kind of didn't make sense, they put on a great presentation so I'm glad they placed.
Pi Phi: SO GOOD. I've never watched Stranger Things but it still made sense to me and the dances were just flawless. Pi Phi always kills it at Greek Week though so not surprised. Probably the most entertaining sorority skit. Also I don't think any Pi Phi would be malicious enough to take a jab at ZTA but their version of Hamilton was ridiculously good and kind of what I expected all of ZTA's actual skit to be. Pi Phi also had the most girls cheering throughout the night.
AST: Interesting take on Wizard of Oz- wasn't really a fan of the political references but they put together a good skit with cute dances. I was expecting something different from the plot but it worked pretty well regardless. They got a lot of laughs and had good song choices!
KKG: Okay, not gonna lie, their promo video had me thinking their skit would be spectacular and while the dancing was REALLY good, the skit itself was eh. Some awkward pauses between scenes and I felt bad when their soundtrack got messed up. If their skit was as good as their dancing, they could definitely place. I also noticed a lot of Kappas cheering for everyone during the other skits and thought it was sweet.

on a final note, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH BETTER WITH PIKE AND FIJI THERE. I don't think it was fair at all to disqualify them, it wasn't as fun without their skits and this is supposed to include all of Greek life. The situation could have been handled better. Banning frats doesn't accomplish anything other than discredit their hard work and the time they put into preparing for this.

From what I heard they thought they would be banned, ended up not working on their skit & dance, last minute were told they weren't banned, so they weren't prepared and dropped out?
