Delta Phi Epsilon - ΔΦΕ Sorority at New York University - NYU 5.0 this sorority has changed a lot in the last 2 years. it’s nearly unrecognizable in values than it was when I was a freshman in 2018 going through recruitment. make the comments about it that you might and share your experiences and I will share mine. this sorority goes out of its way to welcome diversity, the people that look at the sorority just at face value see what they want to see but from an inside perspective our LT places an importance on championing diversity and eradicating discrimination in the chapter. I have watched as the chapter has gone from being vapid, selfish, and unwelcoming, to supportive, loving, and making an active effort toward being the best possible sorority it can be. Any criticisms made toward how this sorority used to recruit are extremely valid, because the recruitment efforts in 2017 and even 2018 weren’t based on anything other than looks and superficiality. This chapter has in depth DEI training, this chapter has town halls to talk about systemic issues, their LT is diverse probably one of the most in panhel and they make an active effort to ensure their sisters can play an active role in changing their chapter, the graduating sisters of last year have changed this chapter. there is going to be a lot of negativity thrown toward this chapter now tht recruitment is coming up, but I’ll be the positive among the negatives. take every rating with a grain of salt, even mine. form your own opinions, hope all the PNMs find the right home for them.

Delta Phi Epsilon - ΔΦΕ Sorority at New York University - NYU 3.0 for the love of god stop paying to delete comments. i went through recruitment (in person) in 2017 and this group was the most plastic, insincere and exclusionary organization ive ever been near. I am not a thin white girl and boy did yall make me aware of it. I was paired with a girl who would not look me in the eye, engage in conversation or show me any respect. now mind you, i know i wasnt what they were looking for in terms of a sister however there is a right way to treat people and a wrong way and boy was this wrong. mutual respect and kindness was apparently not in the book for dphie recruiters. I saw the way they interacted with white thin pnms and the way they acted with women like me. ultimately my recruiter bumped me with another group of actives and pnms who were also not "stereotypically thin" and the active girls literally stood in a cirle and talked to each other, leaving me and the other pnms to stand in a corner alone throughout the round. it was embarrassing to say the least. I felt so belittled. I know this is still going on as my cousin went through virtual recruitment this past year and told me that she felt equally unwelcome and tokenized as I had years before. They only care about their social media status and mixing with top tier frats, truly sad to see them hyped so much on campus when in reality they are all a bunch of social climbing status crazed white girls.

Delta Phi Epsilon - ΔΦΕ Sorority at New York University - NYU 2.0 When I rushed last year the girls who rushed me were incredibly rude and acted like they did not want to be there at all (wore pjs, lying in bed, eating). They only spoke to the other actives and interrupted me. Never felt so unwelcome or unwanted somewhere in my life.

Delta Phi Epsilon - ΔΦΕ Sorority at New York University - NYU 5.0 I actually liked these women a lot. I don’t know why everyone hates them so much but I had a few that could always make me smile on the way to lecture

Delta Phi Epsilon - ΔΦΕ Sorority at New York University - NYU 4.7 Okay so I actually signed up for recruitment my freshmen year and I had gotten a bid from Dphie. I was happy, but I dropped because I realized I simply was not happy studying in the city anymore. I’m not from new york and i’m literally from the other side of the country, so I chose to transfer to another uni closer to home...ironically though, I still ended up at Dphie! Dphie gets so much hate sometimes and I really don’t get why. You could try to jack that im biased but at the same time, we all know what I’m talking about. No one can come on here and bash this org without knowing an actual sister on a deeper level:..oh and yeah, when recruitment classes are so big, of course conversations are gonna sound repetitive or vague. PNMs forget that we are just as excited, as tired and as drained as them on these days! It’s kinda weird that WOC and plus size individuals are saying they felt uncomfortable. I’m filipina and dominican, and a size 24...everyone needs to hop off here with the hate. In celebration of starting my OWN chapter’s recruitment in a few days, I came back on here to provide pnm’s with my “memory lane”. Take if for what it’s worth. Like some universities might get low ratings, but it’s how you make your moments count and the people you meet that can make it so much better. We are all grown. Stop acting like toxic children! Love a sister from the Delta Eta chapter! đź’śđź’›
