Alpha Sigma Tau - ΑΣΤ Sorority Ratings at NYU

Just no. People never show to enough events to make them fun and our meetings are hella boring. I liked that these people weren't the usual "sorority girls" and were less trendy/thin/fashionable /white. I thought that would help make the group feel inclusive, but it's not. I'm an outcast in this group as is my friend that joined with me. We showed up to every event we could and tried everything to make friends but these people are just not nice. My friend and I went to ONEEEEEE Kappa party and have like 4 friends from that one party now. All our time in Alpha Tau and all we've got is each other from Alpha Tau- and we were the same pledge class. It really sucksssssss!!!

I wanna rep my org but all of this is true... - dues are hella pricey cuz we have so few members - alpha taus start so many rumors and backstab each other - our org rarely has any decent parties and has no good events anymore - we prob really are the smallest org on campus or at least the 2nd smallest - Alpha Tau is a no name organization... no one from my high school or family had ever heard of it before. ever. - Alpha Tau is super tiny at the national level... I think it's legit the smallest Panhel sorority or 2nd smallest - our pledge classes really are getting less and less hot - our org HAS to give EVERYONE that ranks us during recruitment/rush a bid cuz our numbers are so low/bad... we aren't allowed to NOT give someone who ranks us a bid BUTTTTT... - our grades are decent if not respectable - our sorority is not the stereotypical sorority... so we have some people who aren't stylish, are heavyset, etc etc - our org HAS to accept you and give you a bid.. SERIOUSLY. We have SOOOO few members that we literally HAVE to give you a bid during recruitment to meet Panhel quotas, so you WILL get a bid from us if you pick us. We CAN'T reject you, period, cuz our org is SOOO under our membership quota that they force us to give anyone who ranks us AT ALL a bid. 4real. - we have so few people that you really at least know of everyone in our group. lotsa backstabbing and rumors but you know OF them at least - our dues are cheaper than the top sorority on campus... we're the bottom ranked on campus so at least we're cheaper

I’m a sistau and can’t wait to graduate this spring just so I never have to see these people again. Alpha Sogma Tau ruined my NYU and Greek life/campus life experience. I wish to god they I had joined anything else, even dphie.

AST is so amazing full of caring women who really value sisterhood. I am so happy and comfortable here.

This is a great chapter, and all of the people in it are nice and down to earth. The focus is on building a community at such a large school, and part of why it’s so successful is because everyone is there for that goal. There are lots of sisterhood events, a focus on philanthropy, and the people are very nice.

Ghetto AF org. Nobody I know can believe this trashy organization hasn’t been shut down yet. They have, underage drink, and sleep with basically everyone.

As a former sister, I warn any potential new members to not even consider this sorority. I regretted joining. There’s zero real sisterhood, it’s all fake. Parties sucked. They’re the lowest bottom tier and most people have never even heard of AST. This group didn’t help me make friends or network for life after college, it just wasted my time and money. Steer clear, they’re faker than the Kardashians faces.

literally cant believe this sorority still exists. nyu should shut them down already. they underage drink all the time, do nothing for charity, arent involved in campus life in any real way, and have pathetically few members left.

I’m so glad it’s summer and I don’t have to see the shorty people in my org. This org sucks. Hateful, catty drama filled brats. Nothing fun to do. Zero sisterhood. Trying to stick it out but might quit.

I have tried to hang in there semester after semester even tho Alpha Tau keeps getting worse and worse. I will not continue being an active next semester. Dues are pricey AF and no one wants to go to events so we get fined for most absences. There are hardly any members left even compared to my friend's Kappa sorority and I really regret ever pledging Alpha Tau. I am so sad that AST has gotten so bad, small, and just boring. The only good thing is that Alpha Tau has the non-sorority type people so they are more accepting of people who aren't pretty or skinny. There's a lot of race diversity compared to some groups. But the good stops there. Most of us hardly know each other, which is pathetic AF with as few members as there are that are still left.
