time commitment?

by:

How much time does being in a sorority take up, specifically DZ or AXO? in other words, as a theatre and dance major, could I be a member of a sorority and also be a tour guide, get involved in shows, etc?

Go to pre-recruitment events and ask the sisters there!
The most major time commitment is during new member education but sororities should understand outside time commitments since they want members to be involved in other activities :)

definitely go to pre-recruitment events! there are girls in the sororities who were in the same position as you and would be more than happy to talk to you about their experiences w/ theater and dance during the new member process :)

joining greek life takes a lot of time--no matter which one you join. this time commitment reaches beyond the new member process-- there are weekly chapter meetings, mandatory accreditation events, new member education events that everyone attends, panhell and all greek events, and philanthropy events. these start on bid day and continue til graduation. however, there certainly is a greater time commitment when your a new member, but you make it work and learn to manage your time well.

with that said, that doesn't mean if you join greek life that's all you can do. if you have an event or a commitment that conflicts with an event for your chapter you have to choose which to attend and that's fine. if you miss an accreditation event for dance practice that's cool--you just have to let some one know. one of the best parts about being involved in other things is that you can always count on having someone there for you because your sisters will always come watch you sing/dance/perform!
