rush as a junior transfer
by: junior
Is it possible to join any sorority transferring from another college as a junior who will be at MSU for three years? Just curious as to what my odds are.
And also, do the sororities have certain GPA requirements? I know you need a 2.5 to rush in general.

-Sorority recruitment at MSU is not nearly as intense as Mizzou, KU, etc. However, houses have to make mandatory cuts each round.
-Juniors DO get bids, but some houses might be less likely to invite you back.
-If you know girls in the houses it helps.
-There is a minimum 2.5 to even go through, but each house has their own cut-off, which is probably a bit higher.
-GET RECOMMENDATIONS. Some people might differ, but if you are not a freshman with a high GPA, good looks, and a lot of high school activities, this might help you get through the first couple of rounds of cuts.
-KEEP AN OPEN MIND. Despite the garbage girls (and maybe a few guys write on his site) all of the house at MSU have good girls and something to offer. See who you like, and stick with the houses that invite you back and give them a chance.
