Every sorority is different. Being a legacy can give you leverage but if the girls who you talk to don't like you then it doesn't matter

dg has one of the STRICTEST legacy policies. Not sure on specifics, but I know that dg takes legacies very seriously

When I rushed I was in the same boat- grandma was a dg and I made it to third round with them. I was cut before pref but I also had a pretty awkward conversation (this was when third round was philanthropy and i talked to a girl who clearly didn't pay that much attention and didn't know what their philanthropy was) so honestly I think at this point it depends on if they like you or not. I ended up going lower tier because I didn't feel like I fit in with them and couldn't be happier now. (This isn't me trying to bash DG in any way by the way- if you know you'll be happy there then by all means go with them!!)

Will only get you so far. If they keep you around until pref. round it's because they like you.

DG cannot cut any legacies until after sisterhood round. You can cut them but they cannot cut you (unless they absolutely hate you but then they would have to get it approved by nationals) If you make it to preference you are automatically placed on the bid list

This is just incorrect for every sorority- don't get people's hopes up because I knew several DG legacies that were cut after sisterhood round

Total BS! DG can cut just like every other sorority here, legacy status will only get you so far. End of the day it's on you. No sorority is going to take you if they don't like you, legacy or not

You didn't read my post. Unless DG calls your legacy connection and get the approval from nationals, they CANNOT cut a legacy before sisterhood round. You can most definitely get cut after sisterhood and before preference. But the fact is that if you make it to preference, and list DG as your #1 choice, you will receive a bid. I'm not getting anyone's hopes up. I am an active who is also a legacy. DG takes their legacies very seriously and the only way you are getting cut before preference is if something extreme happens or if actives want to go out of their way to out you.

Different rules at different schools I guess. At some schools (my sisters), if they followed this rule nobody but legacies would ever become a DG. Where she goes they only accept a certain number of legacies. The rest are new girls.

Legacy members make really solid members. They have a deeper connection than the surface stuff. Many current members who don't have a parents or grandparents who were members don't get it.
