sophomore rush

I decided not to rush as a freshman for many reasons, but after seeing a lot of my friends love their sororities, and having my roommate study abroad next semester I am considering rushing. I have heard many contradictory ideas regarding the experiences of girls that rushed as sophomores. Some say there are quotas that have been set that require each sorority to take a specific number of sophomores while others say sophomores are immediately cut. I am curious if this is based solely off of year, or the type of girls that rush as sophomores? Is it that harmful to rush as a sophomore or can good still come out of it?

im rushing as a sophomore too. i've heard it can be more competitive but i might as well try.
