incoming freshmen

by:

To all the incoming freshman reading this site (I know I was looking at it when I was a freshman before rush), I have some advice. Yeah it's interesting to read about "tiers" and all this Greek drama, but get it out of your head as soon as you get to campus, and DEFINITELY before you rush. Make your OWN opinion about the sororities when you are actually on campus. Actually meet the people in them, because in the end, it's YOU who will be a part of the sorority and call those girls your sisters. It's about how the girls treat you, not what tier they're in. Don't ever discount a sorority or a girl just because Greekrank says she's "lower tier", and don't ever glorify a group just because they're "high tier".

Also, you may want to actually steer clear of any "top tier". Look how nasty they are to each other. They are all virtually interchangeable within the tiers. it's a personal preferences. However, their egos are so enormous that they can't share. "Top tier" girls hate on anyone they feel threatened by. The "best" sororities receive the most hate, truthfully, who needs it? Lots of great sororities, but "mid tier" girls are a bit more stable, and not obsessed with rankings like the top tier.... LOL

I'm just gonna go ahead and put it out there, pretty much EVERY freshman goes through wanting to be "top tier." Of course everyone wants to be with the prettiest and most "popular" girls and have all the guys love them and hang with the hottest frats. However 80% will get cut and won't be in top tier sororities. That's just how it works. There's 3 or 4 top tiers out of 15 sororities. So the ones that get cut either hate on them all the time from being bitter OR they make wonderful friends in their sorority and realize rankings are stupid and don't matter. The latter group are the ones you wanna be friends with.
